Thank you for visiting the I.P. Hunt Foundation website.

The I. P. Hunt Foundation, Inc. (IPHF) is a nonprofit publicly supported charity established over 27 years ago in dedication to the memory of Mr. I.P. Hunt, a devoted lifelong Mississippi Educator and home builder. The mission of our organization is to serve the needs of underprivileged and disadvantaged communities through community improvement, real estate development and education programs.

As a community development and education organization, it is our mission to improve, enhance and uplift the quality of life in the community through housing, employment and education programs that serve the needs of disadvantaged and underprivileged seniors, small businesses and low-income working families.

You may or may not be aware that there are over 42 million Americans with no health or medical coverage.  Approximately, 18-20 million of these uninsured Americans are workers with families who in spite of their hard work and effort are living at or below the poverty level who find themselves among a new emerging population known as the "working poor". Countless workers have to make sacrifices on a daily basis just to meet their basic needs and live continuously under the terror of becoming medically or physically disabled; and find it virtually impossible to afford decent and respectable housing that they can own..

Affordable worker health benefits, senior and worker housing as well as youth employment and job training are the three (3) major community improvement problem areas that we believe can be solved through creative nonprofit development structures that serve the business, private and public interests.

Our mission is to create solutions for these situations through innovative and fresh approaches that include the vision, cooperation and support of private citizens, major corporations, private foundations and charities as well as public institutions.

We at IPHF are applying all of our talent and resources to find answers for the conditions of independent small businesses, low-income working "poor" families' and seniors which directly affects the health and wellness of our entire society.

It is our position that within each community are the solutions to its problems. This includes basic worker health plans that serve the benefits needs of small business owners and their workers to affordable housing for seniors and low-income working families.

Our community improvement concept is based on the philosophy that "In the Shelter of Each Other the Community Lives"(TM). Consequently, w believe that all societal problems and social unrest can be traced directly or indirectly back to the health, wellness and stability of the working family which forms the backbone of our modern industrial society. Therefore, it is crucial that we develop community-based alternative methods, means and materials to meet the needs and circumstances of this vital segment of our society. The well-being and security of the working family directly impacts the business, personal and private sectors and touches each and everyone of our lives.

We invite you and all concerned citizens to join in our effort to bring economic education, fairness and inclusion to these underprivileged and disadvantaged productive working groups.

Your partnership, cooperation, assistance and support are essential to making a difference. We also solicit and welcome your ideas, comments and suggestions.
